We have been engaged in a search for an SAP APO Functional Architect for our client. This company is only interested in hiring for full-time positions - no consulting opportunities are currently available.

**This client is willing to provide relocation.**

The SAP SCM/APO Functional Architect will be a member of the company’s Center of Excellence, and will interface heavily with CoE Business Analysts and internal customers across businesses and functional groups to properly diagnose and resolve identified issues within the APO/IBP Modules, and assist business leadership teams in implementing strategic improvements to SAP.  This position will also apply project management expertise to identify and develop process improvements, resolve issues, and optimize cost savings and efficiencies as well as provide counsel and leadership to maximize efficiency while protecting the integrity of the overall solution.

Responsibilities:

  • Act as internal consultant and design architect for SAP solution within specific modules; partner with peers in the IT organization and fellow Functional Architects and Business Analysts to align business processes with solution design, leveraging the capabilities of the SAP modules and ensuring end to end process integration and consistency
  • Responsible for the full systems development lifecycle from requirements gathering through implementation of various functional architecture solutions
  • Translate overall business process requirements to SAP configuration; advise on the management of configuration and testing across the SAP environment
  • Support the identification of enhancement opportunities to standardize/improve processes and system configuration that supports the customer-focused approach, but ensures compliance to the business management goals and objectives
  • Develop, prototype, test and implement solution improvements to increase stability, usability and functionality to enable end users to meet business objectives
  • Lead and support project initiatives to expand the usage of the SAP solution to improve and expand processes across the enterprise
  • Collaborate with Master Data Management team to provide solution architecture input on strategy and initiatives to support management reporting requirements
  • Understand non-SAP business systems and their interaction with SAP; assist in the management of those systems as part of an overall solution portfolio
  • Provide functional support and leadership to SAP User Community, including interaction with Third-Party Support Providers, definition of SOPs, gathering business requirements, documenting functional designs and specifications, and evaluating/directing enhancements
  • Mentor business and functional team members to increase competency in SAP; identify training needs and support CoE Training Manager in the development & delivery of training content

 

Desired Skills and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree required; ERP certification(s) in SCM APO modules preferred
  • 7+ years of progressive IT experience with at least 5 years in Supply Chain Systems
  • 5+ years of experience in SAP APO SCM components Demand Planning (DP) and Supply Network Planning (SNP); GATP and Production Planning & Detailed Scheduling (PPDS) are preferred
  • Demonstrated business acumen and ability to engage with business functions to understand and articulate business requirements as well as the IT capabilities and requirements
  • Experience with related processes in ERP systems, forecasting tools and S&OP Processes
  • Experience with developing supply chain analytics and enabling key KPIs
  • 3+ full lifecycle implementations including: Scoping and Planning, Process Design, Configuration, Testing, Deployment, and Post Go-Live Support
  • Experience with all aspects of the system implementation, including gathering requirements, designing the future state solution, development objects related to their process scope, and supporting testing and post implementation support
  • Knowledge of SAP Solution Manager; experience using SAP implementation methods
  • Experience with system design, configuration, customization, integration, testing and support
  • Knowledge of integration points and the order in which these must be executed
  • Experience working with design, implementation, and support of knowledge management solutions and related technologies for collaborative information sharing
  • Experience with gap analysis and strategic roadmap/blueprint development
  • Business process analysis and redesign experience: strong business analysis skills; process mapping; business process redesign and implementation
  • Systems implementation skills: requirements/process analysis, conceptual and detailed design, configuration, testing, training, change management, support
  • Excellent interaction and communication skills; strong presentation and facilitation skills (oral and written); works well in a team environment with the ability to work independently
  • Proven team leadership, mentoring, and project management skills
  • Strong time management skills, as well as the ability to multi-task and handle large workloads
  • Manufacturing industry experience
