We have been engaged in a search with a rapidly growing client in the St Louis, for a Director of SAP Applications overseeing this company’s entire SAP organization.

This is a well-known organization in the midst of a massive growth and acquisition phase. To enable IT to grow and deliver value to business as it scales, the CIO is very intent on creating an innovative environment that has been baked right into the company’s cultural DNA.

This is an exciting time for the company, and potentially for someone who gets to work with this team. This is the perfect opportunity for a dynamic IT Leader who is on an upward career arc, who is ready to prove themselves in a role with a clear path to the C-Suite. A future CTO / CIO perhaps?

This is an exciting time for the group, and they want someone who will fit into their culture, deliver value from day one, and help ‘lead the charge.’ This person must have the technical chops of course, but even more importantly, this person MUST be high energy and dynamic…a true ‘lead-from-the-front’ visionary.

Do you meet this requirements? If so…let’s talk:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems or related field; Master’s degree or MBA is highly desirable.
  • Ten or more years working in a business environment with a focus on business process and strategy.
  • Ten or more years of management experience
  • Ten or more years of SAP experience
  • Five or more years of experience leading broad application teams across all functional areas
  • Strong understanding of project management principles.
  • Excellent technical knowledge.
  • Desire to stay abreast of technology and regulatory changes that affect the business.
  • Strong solution architecture skills and the ability to think across both application and infrastructure landscapes in order to determine solutions.
  • Strong understanding of human resource management principles, practices, and procedures.
  • Proven ability to make complex technical and vendor tradeoffs producing top business value.
  • History of negotiating large contracts for best possible terms.
  • Ability to manage distributed teams.
  • Extensive experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
  • Excellent written and oral communications skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Creative, entrepreneurial approach to technology possibilities.
  • Ability to present ideas in business-friendly and user-friendly languages
